Here are the Race details:

We gathered at 5:00 to assemble teams, take pics and eat appetizers. We had 25 people split into 4 teams. At 6, Brian and Steve handed out the first envelope (from the post office that you zip open, just like on the show)

The first clue had us looking for a bunch of pvc poles at an elementary school which we had to untie and put in the cars. They were tied upright to the light poles in the parking lot and it took us 15 minutes running around the school to find them!

We then went to Target where 2 team members had to search through the greeting card section for the next clue

Off to TGIFriday's to find the Yoda display over the Marilyn Monroe picture and ask the manager for the next clue

Post Office was next-to search through a newspaper to find out what to do next (they took out a free ad that said "open your next clue")

To crap Walmart (not the nice SuperWalmart, but the gross one) to search through the assembled furniture for the next clue. One member had to ride a bike around the bike department twice.

Next was buying a can of peaches at Safeway and delivering it to our pastor's house b/c he did a sermon with a story about peach pie the week before!

The pregnant nun got Coldstone mid-race!!

Off to Lowes to find something that cost $12.97 and have each member sit on the toilets in the toilet aisle for extra points

To our house: here comes the eating stuff! In the basement was a tall ladder above a huge bingo board, but instead of bingo, it said "V-O-M-I-T" One member had to put a spoonful of stuff in their mouth and spit down from on top of the ladder. The concoction they had to spit onto the board was pureed sardines, mayo, mustard and garbonzo beans. The rest of the team had bingo paper that we marked off with crayons. Once we got a bingo, we earned a nerf dart.

With the nerf dart, we ran upstairs by the front door where there was a huge target on the wall with numbers on it. One member would shoot the dart to see which number they could hit.

The number that was hit, was the number of "Surf" or "Turf" another member of the team would eat. We could choose surf or turf, and knowing Brian, I figured he'd play a trick on us and make turf the grosser choice. My team got a 6, and I picked surf. 6 long flat anchovies. They looked like nightcrawlers and I just swallowed them whole b/c I didn't want to taste them. For a bonus, a second team member could do the "turf" which was cow tongue (I was right!) Surprisingly, every team got the bonus!!

Next we went to Blockbuster and on the way we had to listen to a cd that had "when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that's amore" on it. We had to try to remember as many words as possible and sing it to the entire blockbuster store when we got there. They then handed us an unassembled pizza box which we had to build quickly.

The whole time, we were contending with 6 stupid 8 ft long pvc pipes which made getting in and out of the vehicles challenging. Finally, we had to bring them to a field hockey arena where we had to raise a huge playground ball over our heads holding only one pipe each (we made a criss-cross type pattern) and race around both goals. Then back to the car with the pvc and back to the finish line!

All of it had to be videotaped, and there were lots of bonuses along the way, like counting stickers on the p.o. boxes at the post office, finding certain pictures on the wall at TGIFriday's, etc.

It was really fun. We ran a lot more than we ever have in the past (this was our 3rd year personally, but it's been going on for 7!)
