We had ash falling on our car in Longmont
This week has been crazy. There was a huge fire just outside of Boulder that consumed more than 7000 acres, 169 homes and millions of $ in damage. In fact, evacuees still haven't all been allowed home, so when they arrive and find smoke and ash damage, more people will be devastated. Brian has had lots of people needing help from State Farm, and our church has helped run a warehouse of donated items for victims.
We've also been emotionally drained this week b/c a 12 yr old son of a family in our small group fell from a tree a week ago and fragments of a branch lodged in his bicep. Complication after complication occurred and he had a life-threatening infection that ended up killing his bicep muscle. He then had fluid on his lungs and he's had 5 surgeries in one week to removed diseased tissue and infection. He was a total athlete: baseball player and football star. This has been so difficult for his family, but God is sustaining them day by day. I've been to the hospital, brought meals, picked up family from the airport and even attended his little brother's football game to help support them. Please pray for them! Their family, their faith, Alex's healing, Alex being strong and not depressed, etc. They have a looooooong road ahead.
in case you're interested, some of the pieces removed from A's arm
Today was Rush Hour and then the fire warehouse.
Tired.

Brian's comment after watching the bday video..."Oh man, that's brutal! She's soooo tired!"
I think it's great. I wish I had done that to Brian last year!
